GETTING READY TO WORSHIP

Finding a church home, visiting a church from out of town, or going to church with a friend are just some of the reasons that might lead you to worship with us at Spring Creek. We want you to be prepared to worship when you walk through the doors so that you can focus on seeing Jesus. So here are some commonly asked questions about getting ready to worship with the Spring Creek family.

How Long is the Worship Service?

Expect worship to be an hour and fifteen minutes. This could change if there is a baptism, a response to God’s invitation, or a family is placing membership.

What kind of message will I hear?

The sermon will be Christ-centered and Biblically focused. A Discipleship Challenge invites us to live out the message as we walk daily with Jesus. Sermon sheets are provided on Sunday mornings to aid further study during the week.

What should I wear?

You will find a variety of styles at Spring Creek. Jeans, business casual, suits, ties, or dresses are just some of the things people wear. We ask that you dress respectfully to worship.

Where is Spring Creek?

Spring Creek is located in Northwest Tomball, just outside the entrance to Spring Creek Park on Brown Road. Click here to get directions.

What About My Children?

An attended nursery is provided for all infants and toddlers from birth to two years old. Children’s Church takes place during the sermon time for preschool-aged children up to five years old.

GROW Bags and K.I.S.S. Sheets (Kids Involved in Studying Scripture) are located at the back of the auditorium to help guide your children as they learn to worship. K.I.S.S. sheets can be exchanged for a prize when you meet the preacher after worship!

Will I Be Asked for Any Information?

We will invite you to fill out a Visitor’s Card during worship. This allows us to record your attendance and follow up with a welcome text, card, or email.

We want you to be able to ask questions, submit prayer requests, get involved in a Bible study, or receive more information about the church. You decide what information you share.

We are glad you visited us!

what to expect during worship

Our worship takes place in community with God and His people. We worship together from the heart with a sincere love for the Lord. All expressions of faith invite us to meet Jesus during our worship time.

As you enter the Spring Creek Church of Christ, prepare to be warmly greeted. We want you to know that you are a welcome guest and an honored friend. Your presence with us is a blessing from God. Each Sunday morning, we begin with a Call to Worship. We will sing a song, and then someone will take a moment to welcome our guests and invite us all to seek God, meet Jesus, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives.

Acts of Worship

Modeled on biblical principles of worship found in the New Testament, our worship is guided by five specific acts. Each of these parts of worship is an opportunity to engage with God and His people and experience transformation.

SINGING

As we come together in worship, we sing from the heart. The songs are chosen to help direct our minds and hearts toward Jesus. This is a time when the people of God raise their voices in harmony to praise, glorify, and honor the presence of God among us.

LORD'S SUPPER

Our community is best expressed in the Lord’s Supper as the Body of Christ gathers around the table to remember the central event of our faith – the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. This is a time of reflection, celebration, and surrender. Jesus has given Himself to us and for us, and so we give our lives to Him and live for His glory.

GIVING BACK

As the people of God, we know that God is in control of our lives, thoughts, bodies, and possessions. We give a portion of what we have each Sunday as an act of surrender, confirming God’s sovereignty in every part of our lives. This money is used to support the discipleship process at Spring Creek, promote growth and faith locally and worldwide, and to help those in need.

STUDYING THE BIBLE

We spend time in each worship assembly studying the Word of God. We read the Bible to hear God’s voice in our lives. We center our hearts on Jesus during a time of meditation at communion. The preaching is Christ-centered and draws our hearts to better experience the deep impact that Jesus has on every moment of our lives.

PRAYER

Every part of our worship is bathed in prayer. The Spring Creek Church of Christ seeks to walk only where God is leading. We seek His counsel in our actions, His mercy in our failings, His love in our relationships, and His healing in our bodies. Prayer is the way that we carry on a conversation with God that lasts through the week.

A Closing Prayer

At the close of our worship time together, one of the elders will spend some time announcing opportunities for spiritual growth (such as fellowship and study times). Significant events in the lives of our members are important to the Spring Creek family and so we share these times together as well. The bulletin also provides much of the information shared in the announcements.

While our worship services are a community expression of our relationship with God, we want to remember that worship is a vital part of every Christian’s life. Our daily walk with Him is a response to what God has done for us through Jesus. We worship Him by loving others and being the presence of Jesus in the world.
